A seasoned aviation professional with over 30 years of experience, including 8 years as a U.S. Navy Air Traffic Controller with deployments in the Persian Gulf and off the coast of Somalia, and 22 years with the Federal Aviation Administration. His FAA career includes operational roles at Kansas City Downtown Airport and Kansas City International Airport, leadership as a Frontline Manager at Kansas City ARTCC, and Air Traffic Manager at Downtown Airport, with service at FAA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. in Trajectory-Based Operations.
He is the founder of the Aviation Youth Academy, a nonprofit introducing multicultural and underrepresented youth to aviation careers, and has taught Fundamentals of Air Traffic Control as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Missouri. He holds a Master’s Degree in Aviation Safety and currently serves on the Board of Aeronautical Commissioners for the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
